ACCESS RULES

-The Royal Palace has certain access rules to allow the public to visit the exhibitions safely. Please read the instructions listed below carefully before entering or purchasing your ticket:

Reservation is not compulsory for access to the exhibitions, but strongly recommended to avoid waiting. On the busiest days such as Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, admission to the exhibitions cannot be guaranteed for unbooked visitors. Ticket offices are open during opening hours.
Visit the Tickets and Reservations page to access pre-sales. Bring your reservation with you, either printed or in digital display format: we will check it at the entrance.
It is important to arrive on time and no more than 5 minutes before the reservation time.
To find out about opening days and times, please consult the Opening Hours page.
Groups are admitted subject to booking and the procedures described on the Organise Groups page.
It is recommended that you keep your distance (at least 1 metre from other people) in the rest areas and on the tour route, and follow the routes indicated by the signs and directions provided by our staff.
There is a cloakroom on each floor of the building, where visitors must store helmets, backpacks, bulky bags and umbrellas; coats or other personal clothing will not be collected. For reasons of space, the cloakroom cannot accommodate suitcases, bulky luggage, scooters and folding bicycles, which cannot under any circumstances be taken into the rooms for security reasons.

-The Royal Palace is accessible to visitors with disabilities.

If you use your own wheelchair you will be able to reach the main entrance to the Palace on Piazza Duomo completely independently.

If the exhibition you have chosen to see is on the first floor, signal your arrival to the custodian staff – first door on the left beyond the courtyard – who will activate to accompany you to the lift.

During your visit you will have no difficulty in visiting all the rooms of the exhibition you have chosen and reaching the available toilets.

If you need a wheelchair:

Report your arrival to the custodial staff – first door on the left beyond the courtyard – who will take steps to provide you with a wheelchair. You will temporarily be given an identity card and the staff will accompany you to the lift leading to the first floor.

Palazzo Reale is the exhibition heart of central Milan, a structure of the Milan City Council that for years has been planning, designing and managing major art exhibitions for the general public. Building on a rich and strong tradition that began in the 1950s, work continues today that over the last ten years has positioned Palazzo Reale at a level of excellence both for the quality of its scientific projects and the variety of its proposals. A work that has also been rewarded by the public: with a result that for years has steadily exceeded one million visitors per year, Palazzo Reale's exhibitions are increasingly at the top of the list of the most visited in Italy. There are many reasons for this success: medium and long-term programming, the availability of important relationships and partnerships with museums all over the world, collaborations with subjects with many years of experience in the implementation of exhibition projects, the growing competence of the structure and the continuous support of the City of Milan.
