The ancient mediaeval capitals preserved at the Museo dell’Opera in the Doge’s Palace offer an extraordinary and poetic 3D tale of the city’s ancient stories, beliefs, customs and trades. The tactile exploration focuses on the decorative apparatus of some of these works and, in particular, on the life-size reproduction of the ‘capital of the trades’, which allows us to understand the representation of the individual ‘arts’ depicted. The experience also takes place on important architectural elements of the palace, preserved there, and on a model that can give a feeling of the dimensions, space and special structure of the entire building.
