Salento is not only sea but also biodiversity, red earth, centuries-old trees, magical paths in the fresh Salento greenery. These include the WWF Oasis ‘Le Cesine’, a real pearl that is home to eucalyptus plants, the extremely rare thorny oak, the white stork and cranes.
The Reserve has a path equipped for the differently-abled, which can be followed on foot and in wheelchairs. A section of the path has handrails to facilitate visually impaired visitors, and is equipped with a swamp-floor hut with windows at wheelchair height.
