The museum is located inside a villa that fully expresses the Neapolitan neoclassical art, thanks to the lack of architectural barriers there’s a path completely accessible to wheelchair users, who will benefit the magnificent pieces of art of the museum.
The flat revolves around three central parlours: the blue one, which leads to the great ballroom, has photographs on the walls with autographed dedications of the illustrious guests of the Villa; the red one, which preserves the sumptuous appearance given to it in the Rothschild period, connects the circular entrance Vestibule – characterised by the neo-Palladian solution of the perforated vault to allow natural lighting from the skylight above – with the monumental neoclassical veranda; finally, the green one forms the connecting space between the sumptuous Library, with its rich leather wallpaper stamped in gold from the end of the 19th century, and the sober Dining Room, recently restored to its former splendour with the display of the table laid with the Pignatelli family’s dishes and cutlery.
