Diocesan Museum

Works of art, especially those commissioned and made for liturgical reasons, in order for them to fully express the multiple layered and complementary meanings such as artistic, historical, theological and devotional value, should be placed or used in or for their original purpose. This is not always possible. The museum collection, therefore, in addition to safeguarding and preserving the property, aims to pass on in their completeness the values that connote the works of art. These are the primary criteria pursued in the arrangement of the Diocesan Museum of Ancona, which therefore has as its main function the pastoral one.
