The A.S.D. Polisportiva UICI Torino – onlus, active since 1980 in the promotion in the territory of recreational, motor, recreational and sports activities directed mainly to the visually impaired, has brought Showdown to Turin, a variant of table tennis directed to blind people.
The athletes, playing on a table with sides and a suspended board instead of a net and using a special rectangular wooden racket that they hold with one hand covered by a glove to protect their fingers, must succeed in getting the ball into the opponent’s hole to score.
The sport, which has become increasingly popular in recent years, is recognized and regulated by Fispic.
