The HandiCREA Cooperative was established in 1995 with the aim of offering services to people with disabilities, favouring social inclusion, promoting a culture of accessibility and decreasing situations of marginalisation resulting from both pathologies and unexpressed needs.
Through an agreement with the Province of Trento, it manages the Disability Desk activity, aimed at providing information to all those who live in contact with or personally experience disability on various topics of interest (services, laws, facilities, transport, architectural barriers, etc.).
The Cooperative is also involved in mapping structures, routes and places in Trentino, to provide information on their accessibility. This activity has been developed during various projects and collaborations with institutional and private bodies.
HandiCREA today manages the “Trentino per Tutti” website, still under construction, designed to promote accessible tourism in our territory as it provides reliable data on the accessibility of the structures surveyed: information which allows the disabled person to have greater autonomy, freedom of movement and safety.
Within the portal, it is also possible to find other projects, such as the latest one realised with the support of the Municipality of Trento: “Trentino to be explored by all”; whose objective is to create video “tours” accessible to all, concerning structures and places of historical and cultural interest in our territory, to attract and encourage tourists to visit. Each video includes a translation in LIS (Italian Sign Language) and a choice of audio guides and/or subtitles in Italian, English and German.
